The Lancashire side of the family, arriving in Wales by marriage. Kathleen's birth certificate is the only document we have so far, but it names her parents, which gives us a starting point.
Generation one
John Thomas Robinson
Kathleen's father. In 1911 the family were living at Swinton, near Salford. He registered her birth himself.

Annie Mary Elias Robinson, formerly Scott
Her maiden name opens yet another line, the Scotts, about whom we know nothing at all so far.

Generation two
Kathleen Mary Robinson
Known in the family as Robbie. Trained at Park Hospital, Davyhulme, Manchester, 1929 to 1932, and registered as a nurse on 10 March 1933, number 67913. By 1939 she was a staff midwife. The pink hat story, as she told it to her daughters, is in Chapter Six, though a contemporary newspaper gives a different account, that Kathleen nursed him after a football injury. They married at St Paul's Church, Eccles, Lancashire, and had four daughters. Kathleen died in 1987, six years before Emlyn.
